I am excited to announce that we have partnered with St.
Thomas Hospital Health and the National Football League in a program called
Know Your Stats. This amazing program will increase prostate cancer awareness
via special events held throughout the football season (go Bengals!).
After skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common cancer
in American men. In 2011 alone, 241,000 men will be diagnosed with -- and
34,000 will die of -- this terrible disease. However, more than 2 million men
in the United States who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer are still
alive today.
To help you stay on top of your prostate cancer risk, we
will be offering reduced-cost PSA screening at both the St. Thomas and Baptist
laboratories now through October 7th. After this test is completed, I’ll meet with all
participants in my office and offer digital rectal exams to complete the
prostate cancer screen.
For more details on the reduced-cost PSA screening, or to
schedule your appointment, call (615) 269-2655. Further information can be obtained at
knowyourstats.org
I’ll post more information soon on an exciting event we’re
planning for an upcoming Tennessee Titans game.
